Mixed Media Paintings

When creating my paintings, I have an emotional connection to the canvas and the materials I use.

I feel myself as part of the painting. I start out with a base of color and move from there. I add shapes, words and different types of items to create movement within the painting. Each painting connects with my emotions and spirit which are embedded under layers of paint or closer to the surface.

I use shapes found in life, especially in nature. Nature is a very fascinating thing from the tiniest little moving creature to the enormous, gorgeous trees that tower over us giving us shade and shelter.
